Episode 45 : Keep Calm And Carry On

“Twelve stories high, made of radiation.” On Today’s show, Jon and Jill share memories of early children’s television and then bicker while Diane dusts off her 12 gauge. Topics of discussion include a bill which would allow students to carry guns on college campuses, Rahm Emanuel posting a $2,500 bounty to discover the identity of a twitter imposter, a crime-fighting DNA spray, and a man who finally got that darn knife surgically removed from his head after being stabbed 4 years ago. Other topics include one homophobe’s hypocritical tattoo and what one woman will do if you steal her girl scout cookies.

This week’s featured song is “Smarter” by Eisley. Their next album, “The Valley” will be released March 1st.

Evening Bender : Rubbing Crystals with Ashley Hope

Chelsea and Jon welcome Ashley to the cat studio. Ashley talks about studying to become a celebrant and talks about all things spiritual. Chelsea and Ashley then talk about embarking on a sisterhood journey of enlightenment. Later, we get the awesome Devyn to skype with us. All in all this was a very fun bender and we are so glad we were able to rescue it from the cutting room floor, so to speak.

Episode 42 : I Summon the Cold of the Arctic Winds

It is Secretly Timid Tuesday and Dallas is frozen. Rather than call in the snow day the cast decided to record via this program called “Skype.” Topics include…um…well…EGYPT, Chik-Fil-A, the Rush Limbaugh/Sen. Leland Yee, Artist Jeff Koons latest performance piece, and Helena Bonham Carter’s fashion. Other topics include Washington University’s decision to cancel Bristol Palin’s speech, Super Bowl craziness, a possible oral sex/cancer link, and this U.S. Map of shame. It’s a snow day! So enjoy this special 2 hour episode. Devyn pops in. Little Andie says ‘hi.’ And Jon got drunk. Don’t judge.

Episode 41 : The Fantastic Four

Although Paul could not get into the box today, we are still the Fantastic 4. Let’s just say that for today’s episode he is playing the part of the “Invisible Woman”. I suppose that would make Danielle “She-Hulk.” Regardless, let us all mourn our fallen hero, The Human Torch. We will miss you, you flaming hero. On today’s show, Jon, Jill, and Diane talk about Cold Stone Creamery jumping on the frozen yogurt bandwagon, a duo in Austin who were arrested for DWI…on a horse, the autism debate, and whether or not promiscuity may be genetic. Later Jon reviews the album, Early in the Morning, by James Vincent McMorrow.

Episode 40 : Trentasize!!

This show is truly a comedy of errors. Paul turns into a robot and is unceremoniously cut off by the Skype Gods.  Jon talks poker/Jill yawns/Diane blinks. News stories include  a college student who paid for his tuition with one dollar bills,  Gucci Mane’s hot new ink, and Starbuck’s new trenta size.

(Post Show Script – Jon unkinked the kinks. It is amazing what 8 bucks and a conversation with the hot guy at Radio Shack can do!)

Speaking of jail, a Dallas parolee was just declared innocent after spending 30 years in jail.  Other news stories covered this episode include two interesting studies; one which explores the differences in conservative and liberals brains, and the other which discovered that the wealthy have trouble detecting emotions. Oh, and what is up with all the dead birds? Did you know that Macaulay Culkin and Mila Kunis were bed buddies?
