Ok. Ok. So the Tobey M. Spider-Man was released in what…2001? If you ask me it is still a little too early for a reboot. But…gotta say this trailer looks pretty swanky. Andrew Garfield feels very Peter Paker-y and Emma Stone is in everything, so of course she was cast as Gwen Stacey. Seriously…Emma, take a vacation. Enjoy the trailer below. The film hits theaters July 3, 2012.
Those who know me know that I grew up watching A Nightmare on Elm Street. I was one of those weird kids who LOVED Freddy Krueger. I loved him so much, in fact, that I got put in “time out” in kindergarten for play A Nightmare on Elm Street with my classmates. Turns out that the teacher didn’t like my pretending to kill other kindergarteners. What a bitch. Well, one of my childhood fantasies comes true this Tuesday when Midway releases the Freddy Krueger DLC pack for Mortal Kombat. Loyalist will be peeveed that this version for Freddy is from the remake that his theaters a few years back and not the version Robert England made famous. Here’s hoping that England’s version will be released as an alternate costume down the line. And I know, I know…he has two gloves….but such is the limitations of a 2D fighter. Still, he looks awesome and I am stoked for the DLC pack. If you wanna play…our XBox Live name is SecretlyTimid. The DLC pack will be available for download August 9th.
Just the other day I thought to myself, my apartment is just too small. I have no place to put my old X-Men comics…the ones when the team lived in Australia and were all awesome and stuff. Well, if I were as resourceful and handsome as photographer Christian Schallert, all my problems would be solved. Watch the clip below and see for yourself. If you would like to see some of his art, you may do so by clicking here.
Oh how I wish I could live in slow motion. Everything is prettier. If you agree with me then you will love this video from The Slow Mo Guys. “Touch my awesome button?” Twist my arm! Check the video out below.
IndieWire reports that the original X-men story will spawn not one, but two sequels. Producer Lauren Shuler Donner says that the story told in the original trilogy is not over and that the story told in X4 will lead directly into x5. Good news?
So at the end of X3 we had Prof. X body swapped, Rogue and Mystique de-powered, Magneto possibly re-powered, Cyclops and Phoenix dead (along with a shit ton of others), Wolverine gone and Storm as reigning headmistress. What a clusterfuck! I am interested to see where they go from here. Genosha maybe? Perhaps a little Proteus action?
My fingers and toes are crossed in hopes that Bryan Singer will return to the franchise. While I loved the fact that my Stormy got tough in X3, the story was so muddled that I think only a director and writer like Singer could pull this franchise back from the nosedive that occurred in his absence.
In other Marvel news, Deadpool is reported to be written with a more mature audience in mind. Ryan Reynolds is still in talks to reprise his role as the ‘Merc with a mouth’ so long as his schedule frees up. Hmm…so he will be playing DC’s Green Lantern and Marvel’s Deadpool. What a conflict of interest!
Think you can survive the impending zombie apocalypse? You know that shit goes down May 21st. To prepare I suggest you read this article from Wired.com. I agree, you should travel in a small group. I also think it wise to include at least one person you do not care for. Should it come down to a foot race you could always trip or sabotage him or her which could increase your chances of survival by at least 73 %.

Remember how I said I was “kinda a nerd?” Well, lets see : video games, comic books, cartoons, poetry…Well, I forgot to mention another love from the past; action series made in New Zealand. I loved Hercules : The Legend Continues and Xena : Warrior Princess. I heard mumblings here and there about this new Spartacus series on the Starz! network, but alas, I only have basic cable, so the first two seasons passed me by. That was before both seasons popped up on Netflix Instant. Continue reading
