Monday NerdGasm : X-Men Anime Teaser Trailer / The Walking Dead Video Game

Good Monday true believers! Here is a sneak preview to get your nerdy bits tingly. Over the weekend Anime studio Madhouse (Hello Kitty & Friends) released a teaser trailer for an upcoming series based on Marvel’s X-men. So far only 12 episodes have been announced and network G4TV will air the show sometime in 2011. No news yet on whether episodes will be subtitled or dubbed. So far reports say that the series will follow the X-men reuniting after the death of a teammate to save Armor, who has been abducted in Japan. The identity of the fallen teammate is still a mystery…but my money is on Jean Grey, ’cause she is always dying. Kinda embarrassing. For more information check out The Escapist.

Our favorite zombie comic and television program is getting the video game treatment. In an interview with IGN, series creator Robert Kirkman spilled a bean or two on this and on AMC’s second season. He didn’t say much, but he did say that he hope for fan favorites Michonne, Tyrese, and Hershel to appear on screen. The video game is still in the earliest stages of production, so we don’t know what sort of game it will be. My guess would be something similar to Mass Effect or Dragon Age; lots of action but the game’s true focus will be on storytelling and consequences for choices made. The game is slated for release this fall.

Evening Bender : Rubbing Crystals with Ashley Hope

Chelsea and Jon welcome Ashley to the cat studio. Ashley talks about studying to become a celebrant and talks about all things spiritual. Chelsea and Ashley then talk about embarking on a sisterhood journey of enlightenment. Later, we get the awesome Devyn to skype with us. All in all this was a very fun bender and we are so glad we were able to rescue it from the cutting room floor, so to speak.

Let England Shake

PJ Harvey’s eighth studio album, Let England Shake, was released this past Tuesday. The album has received amazingly positive reviews including one perfect ten from NME. NME critic, Mike Williams writes, “Francis Ford Coppola can lay claim to the war movie. Ernest Hemingway the war novel. Polly Jean Harvey, a 41-year-old from Dorset, has claimed the war album.”

Photographer Seamus Murphy, whose work on Afghanistan is included on his website, A Darkness Visible, created short video pieces inspired by each song. So far we have seen videos for “The Last Living Rose” and “The Words that Maketh Murder.” Below you will see the video treatment for “Let England Shake.”

Episode 44 : The Circus

On today’s show the cast talk about Valentine’s Day, the Grammys, and last Saturday’s art opening at 500x. The cast then get political and anticipate the 2012 election circus. News topics include (and are limited to) this luxury hotel which has been taken over by squatters. Then Jill pits Tila Tequila against Adrianne Curry in this week Twitter Face Off.

The featured song for this week’s episode is “Bhang Bhang, I’m a Burnout” by Dum Dum Girls

500X Gallery Expo

Last night we were happily lost in a sea of skinny jeans, ironic mustaches, and works of art. Let us now share two pieces by two great, young artists (and members of the S T cast). There were some great pieces on display, so check out the show before they tear it down.

C’est en faisant n’importe quoi qu’on devient n’importe qui

Last week my best friend posted a Rémi Gaillard compilation video on my facebook page. I was not at all familiar with Gaillard. He is a French humorist. If I wasn’t so afraid of jail I would buy me a costume and cause me a ruckus too. Check out “Pac Man,” “Mario Kart,” and “Butterfly” below.  Then, check out his official website by clicking here.
