Hidey-HO! One today’s show, Todd Steinberg joins Jon and Danielle for a round table of gelatinous jibbery-do. You may remember Mr. Steinberg for his animated pilot, Don’t Tell My Wife I’m a Cult Leader. Well, he fills us in on where his project is and asks us what our weapon of choice would be in the coming zombie apocalypse. Danielle shoots a video…wherein she is covered in icing and wears a sheep’s mask. Jon isn’t nearly as interesting this week, BUT he did co-host Bitches Be Trippin’ – and Ms. Lala Zigfried is interesting enough for the both of them.
Now THAT is a flower. On today’s show Jon takes a teen to school, Diane steals a dog, Paul’s tire blows out and Matt Rox (from Don’t Tell My Wife I’m a Cult Leader) is our special guest co-host. The quartet discuss vaginal performance art, Occupy Dallas, and Judaism/Catholicism. Jon also doodles:
Dallas Video Fest will be Sept. 21-25, 2011 at the Angelika Film Centerand TheTexas Theatre in the city of Dallas. DVF is one of the oldest video-based festivals in the country and has a legacy that is both memorable and innovative. DVF has shown countless films in the past including the Emmy-award winning documentary “Freedom Riders.” It has showcased work from filmmakers such as Jim Sheridan and Michael Moore and had many notable guests including Monty Python’s Terry Gilliam, as well as television icon and actor Paul Reubens.
This year’s festival will be an event to remember with a wonderful selection of films, as well as, panel discussions, workshops and seminars. Our opening night presentation will be “Film Socialisme,” the new feature from legendary director and French New wave pioneer Jean-Luc Godard. We also will be showing the mixed martial arts documentary “Once I Was A Champion,” about the life and struggles of former UFC Champion Evan Tanner. This feature should be a delight for both fans of mixed martial arts and anyone who loves a great documentary. Another featured screening will be a documentary titled “Connected,” created by the founders of the Webby Awards. Two works from director Spike Jonze, a short titled “Mourir Auprès de Toi” and a vintage skating video of his creation, also will be featured at the festival this year.
